The Chowkhang Vihara also referred as Compa Soma by the locals was built during the 20th century under the guidance and patronage of H.E. Bakula Rinpochey. The Vihara remains one of the primary centers of various religious events and is considered a sacred place of Buddhist pilgrimage. The foundation of the structure was laid in 1957 by H.E. Bakula Rinpochey with a vision of making it a centre of preaching and learning for the peoplelof Ladakh. The Gompa contains the statue of Chow Rinpochey (crowned Buddha) which was originally brought from Tibet and a statue of Guru Padma Sambhava. Distance: 1.00 KM
Central Asian Museum
One of the most remarkable buildings, the Central Asian Museum is located right next to the main market of Leh. The Museum has a rich collection of artifacts, manuscripts and fragments of heritage pertaining to the Silk Route trade from the 18th and 19th centuries and some are even at least 400 years old. It is a four storied building designed in the shape of a Tibetan-Ladakhi fortress, with a contemporary edge. Distance: 0.9 KM
Tisseru Stupa
The Stupa is considered as the largest Stupa in Ladakh. It manifests an unparallel architectural feature, a unique blend of Indian Stupa and Tibetan shrine. The Stupa with 108 shrines inside, came to be known as Teue-kra-shis-od-phro (stupa of good fortune). It is a giant bulky mud brick structure that looks like a half-built stepped pyramid. The construction of the Stupa is attributed to King Dragspa Bumbde (1410-1440 A.D). Jama Masjid
It is considered to be one of the biggest Mosques in Ladakh. Jama Masjid is situated in the heart of Leh city. Historically it is the symbol of an agreement between Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and Ladakhi King Deldan Namgyal. It was constructed in 1666-67 A.D. The architecture was inspired by Turkish Iranian architecture. It is adorned with intricate carvings and houses a memorial known as 'Shah-e Hamdan', which is dedicated to Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, a Muslim Saint. Distance: 1.00 KM
Leh Palace
Leh Palace also referred to as Lachen Palkhar by the locals is a 17th-century built royal palace by the then King of Ladakh, Singey Namgyal. Presently, the Palace is maintained and renovated by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). Namgyal Tsemo
The Namgyal Tsemo stands perched atop the cliff of Namgyal Hill behind the imposing Leh Palace. It dates back around to the year 1430, built by King Tashi Namgyal. It houses a three-story high solid gold idol of Maitreya Buddha (future Buddha) and a statue of Avalokiteshvara and Manjushiri along with numerous centuries old manuscripts and frescoes. Magnetic Hill
Located at an elevation of 14,000 feet, Magnetic Hill in Ladakh is one of the most mysterious and intriguing places to visit in the country and must be part of your Ladakh packages. This small cyclops hillock is said to be a place where the forces of gravity are defied, as it is here where vehicles seem to be pulled in an upwards direction on the hill. While there are several scientific theories that could debunk the mystery of this unique phenomenon, there is also the rather common local superstition, that states that the Magnetic Hill Road is a direct “stairway to heaven.”

Tso Moriri Lake
Amongst the most serene places to visit in Leh Ladakh, Tso Moriri is no less than a heaven. Nestled amidst picturesque and secluded Rupshu Valley, the Tso Moriri Lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and amazingly beautiful landscapes. Lamayuru Monastery
Famous as Tharpa Ling, the Lamayuru monastery is not only the oldest but one of the largest monasteries in Leh. The monastery is located at an altitude of 3,510 m and is amongst the most serene and tranquil Leh tourist places. Home to over 50 monks, it is a famous ancient Buddhist shrine and belongs to the Red-Hat Sect of Buddhism.
Diskit Gompa
Perched at an altitude of 3,144 m, the Diskit Gompa is the largest surviving monastery in the Nubra Valley in Leh. Belonging to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, this monastery is settled along the slope of a mountain. It overlooks the pristine snow-capped Himalayan peaks and the stunning flood plains of the Shyok River that present a remarkable sight to behold.
Shey Palace

Umlingla is the highest paved road and mountain pass in the world at an elevation of 19300ft.The Umlingla pass is traversed by road between Chisule and Demchok, also called the Umlingla road ,which ascends to a height of 5882mtrs in the vicinity of the pass,making it world's highest motorable road.
Hanle
Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO) is located in Hanle village in the western Himalayas at an elevation of 14764Ft.This IAO is one of the world's highest located sites for optical,infra-red and gamma-ray telescopes and is currently the tenth highest optical telescope in the world and India's first Dark Sky preserve.
Alchi Monastery
Alchi monesterythe monestery campus consisting of five shrines was built in 958and1055 with a fusion of Ladakhi Tibetan,Himachali and Kashmiri architecture. The artistic and spiritual details of both Buddhist and the Hindu kings of the time in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are reflected in the wall paintings in the monastery. These are some of the oldest surviving paintings in Ladakh. The complex also has huge statues of the Buddha and elaborate wood carvings and art-work comparable to the baroque style.[2][5] Shakti Maira has vividly explained the beauty of this small monastery.
Gurudwara Pathar Sahib
Home to plenty of beautiful and ancient monasteries, Leh also boasts of a Sikh holy shrine, the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib dating back to the 15th century. One of the most sacred Leh tourist places, it is believed to be built at the same place where Guru Nanak Singh Ji rested, meditated, and defeated a demon while returning from his Nepal trip.
Sangam Point

With the literal meaning fusion, this is the locale where the two rivers of Leh, Zanskar and Indus combine. Each one of them has variable texture while the Indus exhibits textures of green Zanskar is more of browns. Snuggled on the National Highway 1 this place falls on the route to Leh and you need not to take different roads to reach here.
Tso Kar Lake
